Most pieces of jewelry are made of gold, silver and precious stones. The job of the gem setters is to attach the cut stones in or to the piece of jewelry. With a great deal of sensitivity, they fit the gemstones in various ways, for example in rings, necklaces or brooches.
Depending on the stone, the piece of jewelry and of course the fashion, there are different settings, and we will teach you how to make them from scratch. You will first make settings using basic setting techniques (e.g. bezel setting). As the training progresses, the setting techniques will become more complex so that you can also accommodate unusual ideas and customer requests.
You will first design the surface of jewelry using artificial and precious stones according to given criteria. In the second part of the training, you will create your own creative designs for settings in which you combine craftsmanship, design and your own imagination.
The Instagram channel @magic_stonesetters offers further insight into the world of setting.
