Overview of school types

Vocational school

The full-time vocational school training lasts 3.5 years and ends with the final examination in goldsmithing, silversmithing, engraving or metalworking. These qualifications are equivalent to the journeyman's certificate of the respective trade, but the content is significantly enriched with design topics (drafting, etc.). The training year always begins after the Hessian summer holidays.

professional school

The vocational school in the dual system is offered in staggered teaching blocks. It is for trainees from external training companies who complete the theoretical part of their training with us. The vocational school is popular and recognized because the program also highlights design and interdisciplinary focuses (engraving, gemstone setting, silversmithing, etc.) in a rotation system.

dual study

Complete your training at the State Drawing Academy and study at the same time at our cooperation partner, the Brothers Grimm Vocational Academy. Benefit from a double qualification and acquire two qualifications during your training period: a professional qualification and a degree (Bachelor). The Brothers Grimm Vocational Academy currently offers the courses in product design and design management.
